Both won on Sunday: Burton on Enter Paradise, one of four rides at Tabley in Cheshire, but York countered with a double on the same afternoon with Caught In Time and Cavite Zeta at Whitfield, Northants.

At Dingley, the day started badly for owner-rider Richard Hunnisett when a heavy first-fence fall in the opening race meant that he had to stand down from his planned ride on The King Of Angels in the featured four-mile Mixed Open. All ended well, however, when Hunnisett entered the winner’s enclosure to greet his horse and substitute jockey Nick Pearce after a comfortable victory.

In Wales, five-year-old Findlay’s Find, ridden by Nick Williams, stormed to his fifth win of the season in the Men’s Open at Laleston. The youngster is a stable-companion of prolific winner Lady Myfanwy, who was also successful at Laleston.
